The Four Brix Winery is an urban winery that produces wine from Italy, France, Spain, and California. The wine tasting room, BrixHouse, is open to the public and offers wine tasting for $10. Ventura has a long coastline of beaches including San Buenaventura State Beach which has picnic areas, barbeque pits, a snack bar, and summer bike rentals.

Founded in 1782, the mission includes a restored church, Holy Cross School, and a small museum. The San Buenaventura Mission is located 0.6 miles northwest of our Ventura property at 225 East Main Street.

The museum displays Native American, Hispanic, and pioneer influences in the area. Located at 100 East Main St, the museum is 0.7 miles northwest of our Ventura property.

Located in a valley surrounded by high mountains, Ojai is a popular artists' colony and retreat. The Ojai Valley is 15 miles north of our Ventura property along scenic Highway 33.

Harbor cruises, kayak rentals, and sailing lessons are available at the Ventura Harbor, along with many shops and restaurants. The Ventura Harbor is located on Spinnaker Drive, 5 miles south of our Ventura property.

Downtown Ventura has many popular cafes and coffeehouses including the Busy Bee (478 East Main St), Cafe Bella (79 South California St), and the Rosarito Beach Cafe (692 East Main St). All are less than half a mile from our Ventura property.

Formally the Buenaventura Mall, the Pacific View Mall has been completely renovated and contains over 200 stores. The Pacific View Mall is located 2.7 miles east of our Ventura property at 363 Mills Road at Main Street.

There is a foot bridge at the back of the inn. It lets guests walk to the beach & Ventura Pier.

Bicycling and jogging trails are available at the beach: Walking distance is 5 minutes.

The chain of eight islands was dedicated as a national park by Congress in 1980. Trips to the islands can be arranged through the Ventura Harbor (5 miles north) at "Island Packers". We have tickets here for 1/2 day, all day trips, and whale watching trips. They can be contacted at 805-642-1393 for reservations and trip times. They also go out from Channel Islands Harbor in Oxnard (9.2 miles south) , or Santa Barbara Harbor (27.3 miles north).
